In early 2015 tenant improvements were completed on the new headquarters of Coastal Community Bank in Everett WA. This complete renovation of an existing building was designed by Everett based architects Botesch Nash and Hall, a reimaging of a space that had formerly housed the Department of Social and Health Services and a FEMA coordination office. A bank branch office occupies part of the lower floor with some areas that will be leased to other tenants and the corporate headquarters of the bank is located on the second floor.

Central to the design intent of Coastal Community Bank’s new space was the abundant use of daylighting that benefits both the occupants of the perimeter offices and those in the work stations towards the core of the building’s floor plates. To bring light into these interior open areas, the architects used the AD Systems Doors’ OfficeSlide™ system to enclose the offices for privacy while also allowing the highly coveted natural light to pass through to the circulation spaces and cubicle areas.  As is the case with many companies in the financial services, technology and legal sectors, maintaining acoustical privacy and reducing noise levels in an environment that is a mix of open plan office and private offices was a key concern. The acoustical mitigation features of the AD Systems’ sliding doors were an important feature for the clients and architects when selecting an officefront partition system.  The warm custom stained sliding wood doors coordinate with areas of wood ceiling and casework throughout the space, creating a rich contemporary interior befitting a growing Northwest bank focused on providing dedicated service to local business clients.

The new location is the 11th Coastal Community Bank location and houses approximately 40 of Coastal’s 130 total employees with room for expansion. The dedication of this space in Everett underscores Coastal’s commitment to Everett and Snohomish County”, said Eric Sprink, president and CEO of Coastal Community Bank. “Our intent in this location is to serve local businesses and light industrial manufacturers along with small and mid-sized sub-contractors to Boeing. Big banks often push these companies out because their sales cycles are erratic or because they don’t want to understand some of the unique needs these businesses have. That’s our niche. “AD Systems and its sister company have been long term clients of the bank and we were honored to play a role in the construction of their beautiful new space.
